mitochondria is an organelle which is found inside the cells. All the biochemical processes and energy production occur inside mitochondria, hence it is also known as the power plant of the cell. It has a double membrane and the inner part is folded inwards to form layers known as cristae.
Endoplasmic reticulum is a network of tubules inside the cytoplasm of a cell. It has ribosomes attached and it is involved in protein and lipid synthesis.
