Hey mate!
Here is yr answer....
NEPHRON
~~~~~~~~~~
• Nephron is the structural and functional unit of Kidney..
• It is divided as, Malphigian body and Renal body(tubule)
• Malphigian body consists of Glomerulus and Bowmans Capsule..
• Glomerulus develops from the Afferent arteriole and It gives rise to the Efferent arteriole..
• Because of the efferent arteriole , the pressure exterts in the Glomerulus and it functions as a filtration unit!
• Bowman's capsule is lined by a single layer of Podocyte cells. These podocytes allows the materials to pass through pores
• The other part is Renal tubule...Proximal Convoluted Tubule(PCT) , Distal Convoluted Tubule(DCT) and Loop of henle are the parts of it.
• The Primary urine flows through the bowman's capsule and Enters PCT...there Reabsorption of essential salts, material takes place.
• The it flows through loop of henle..and enters DCT
• There, Secretion of some salts etc... Takes place!!
•DCT opens into the collecting tube form pyramids and calyces which opens into pelvis and the pelvis leads to Ureter..
• All the parts of renal tubule are covered by a network of peritubular capillaries formed from efferent arteriole.
• These capillaries join to form renal venule, which joins the other venules to form finally the renal vein.....
Hope it helps...
A nephron is the basic unit of structure in the kidney. A nephron is used separate to water, ions and small molecules from the blood, filter out wastes and toxins, and return needed molecules to the blood. The nephron functions through ultrafiltration.
