Mitochondria
Structure : They are made of two membranes. The outer membrane covers the organelle and contains it like a skin. The inner membrane folds over many times and creates layered structures called cristae.
Function: It produces Adenosine triphosphate which is used for various biochemical processes inside the cell.
Chloroplast
Function : The chloroplast has an inner and outer membrane with an empty intermediate space in between. Inside the chloroplast are stacks of thylakoids, called grana, as well as stroma, the dense fluid inside of the chloroplast.
Function : Chloroplasts absorb sunlight and use it in conjunction with water and carbon dioxide gas to produce food for the plant.
