A cell comprises of many organelles like Mitochondria, plastids, endoplasmic reticulum, lysosomes etc. Out of these organelles Mitochondria and Plastids have their own DNA due to which they can perform many of activities on their own (rest of the organelles follow nucleus to perform activities). These organelles are therefore called SEMI-AUTONOMOUS
