The tissue that receive and conduct impulses is called as nerve cells or neurons.
Structure of Neuron :-
(refer to the attachment)
Cyton or cell body :- Contains a central nucleus and cytoplasm with characteristic deeply stained particles called Nissle's granules (i.e. clumps of ribosomes)
Dendrites :- These are short and branched cytoplasmic processes. They receive impulse from receptor or other neuron and bring it to cyton.
Axon :- It is single generally long process which conducts impulse away from cyton to other neuron.
