Neuron mainly comprises of 3 parts ;

the body of neuron is called cyton. it has abundant cytoplasm called neuroplasm and a spherical nucleus. Cytoplasm has mitochondria, golgi apparatus , neuro fibrils and spherical granules called Nissil's granule.

  • Dendron

These are short ,tapering and much branched protoplasmic processes that stretches out from the cell body. They acquire sensation and sends towards the cell body.

  • Axon

It is a single ,very long protoplasmic process arising from the cell body and its terminal ends are highly branched and often knob like . It conducts impulses away from the cell body.
