Describe the structure of the Alimentary canal of man
Answers
Answer:
Alimentary canal, also known as gastrointestinal tract, is a pathway by which nourishment enters the body and strong wastes are removed. The gastrointestinal tract incorporates the mouth, oesophagus, stomach, small intestines, large intestines, and anus. Its (alimentary canal) main job is to sustain the body.
Mouth- to obtain food to help the body
oesophagus-carries food down to the stomach
stomach-receives food from the oesophagus and secretes acid and enzymes that digest food
large intestines-absorb water from the remaining indigestible food matter and transmit the useless waste material from the body.
small intestines-absorption of nutrients and minerals from food
anus-controls the removal of waste substances from the body
Hope this helps....
