The Marathas and the British fought three wars

                                                                                                                            1.The Treaty of Salbai: This war started in 1782 but there was no clear victor.

    2.The second Anglo-Maratha war: this war was during 1803-05 which was fought on different fronts with the British gaining Orissa and the northern frontiers of Yamuna including Delhi and Agra.

     3.The last Anglo-Maratha war: This war was the last, from 1817-19, with the British crushing Maratha power.
