Hello,
Brinell Hardeness Testing standards call for the use of tungsten carbide balls, as opposed to the (softer) steel balls previously used. They leave a stronger impression due to the carbide balls on the surface,
In order to bring about this test, the surface of the material must be prepared properly by following through proper step which are;
Machining
Grounding
Lapping
Polishing
After the material is passed through the above steps, it is now finally ready for the test.
I hope you are satisfied by the answer.
Thank you.
