3estate; common people (whether rich or poor)like peasants ,merchants,soldiers,shopkeepers etc.

Peasants had to pay several taxes.they were forced to serve the Kings and nobles and they were not given the right to vote

The third estate comprises big businessman, merchants, court officials lawyers, peasents, artisans, small peasents, landless labours and servants. They were the only to pay taxes before the French revolution
