The temperature of the ocean water is not the same everywhere and at all times of the year. Oceans are warmest near the equator and becomes cooler towards the poles. The differences between the summer and winter temperature of the oceans are greater in northern hemisphere than in the  southern hemisphere due to the vast expanse of the water in southern hemisphere.
