➡The word democracy has been derived from the Greek word "demokratik" Demos means people Kratia means to rule so, democracy is the rule by the people

➡The two basic principles of democracy are :

✔The government under democracy is formed by people's rule and major decisions are taken by the elected leaders


✔A True democracy grants Universal adult franchise under which all citizens above 18 years of age have a Right to Vote without any discrimination based on colour, class, religion etc..

Democracy is a form.of gov in which power ultimately comes to the people who are governed either through direct voting or electice representing.

Basis of Principal

✔REPRESENTATIVE GOV:-In a democracy citizen have to be able to elect people to represent them in the gov to be in overall.control of law.

✔INDIVIDUAL RIGHTS :-In a true drmocracy people have some fundamental rights such as right to freedom etc
