Hey mate ,
Thermite reaction is a displacement reaction which is generally used to weld railway tracs .
Fe2O3 + Al -> Al2O3 + Fe
(Ferric Oxide)+( Aluminium) ->( Aluminium oxide )+ (Iron)
Displacement reactions produce intense heat thus the iron so formed by this reaction is in molten state .
Due to this property it is used to weld railway tracs !!!
Hope you find it helpful!!

Answer:
Fe2O3 + 2Al -> 2Fe + Al2O3.
In the reaction Aluminium metal is used to Displace iron from iron(III) oxide. The heat generated from the reaction is enough to melt iron (iron is released as a white hot liquid).
