Before the French revolution, Louis XVI the ruler of France divided the people into three estates to decrease the economic crisis in France.

As, he divided three estates namely - Clergy, Nobility and third estate. Clergy were the church officials, Nobility were the royals and the remaining people were in third estate.

He imposed huge taxes on third estate like thithes, tailes etc. This tax was paid by only the people of third estate and other two estates enjoyed without paying the taxes. knowing this discrimination towards them the third estate people started demanding and formed clubs. This was the start of French revolution.

The best known system is the French ancien regime (old regime) , a three estate system used unit the French revolution ( 1789 - 1799) monarchy was for the king and the queen and this system was made up of clergy ( the first estate) , nobies ( the second estate) and peasants and bourgeoisie ( the third estate ).....
