Basin & plains of river are same.
The three main river system of Northern Plains are :- Satluj, Ganga and Bhramputra. They divide the northern plain into three river basins known as The Satluj Basin, The Ganga Basin and The Bhramputra Basin.
Relief Features of Northern Plains are :-
1. Plains of Northern India are flat and enormous.
2. Northern Plains are also known as Gangetic Plains.
3. They are very fertile land because of the three rivers.
4. They are rich in alluvial soil which is fit for agriculture.
5. Northern Plains have high population because the land here is fit for agriculture and also water is available in abundance for irrigation.
