Ribs are of three types
1) True ribs or ( vertebro sternal ribs) -it includes first seven pairs.
→They articulates with vertebral column upon dorsal side and sternum upon ventral side .
2) False ribs ( Vertebro-chondral ribs ) -8th ,9th ,10th pair
→They articulates with vertebrae on dorsal side and get connected to seventh rib on ventral side through hyaline cartilage.
3) Floating Ribs (Vertebral ribs ) - 11th and 12th pair
→ They articulates with vertebrae on the dorsal side but don't coil to come to the ventral side
