A) In this story, the narrator describes the educational background of his elder brother. His elder brother is a slow learner and he took more than a year to pass from one class to another. But still, the author describe his elder brother as hardworking personality

B) The elder brother used to spend much time on study and he was a hardworking learner. But the younger brother spent his whole day on extracurricular activity, and spent less time on study.
