➲ The Mehrgarh is the first place where people started growing barley and wheat, reared the sheep and goat as it was one of the oldest villages.
On Excavation, Archeologists found the evidence of animal bones and also the remains of houses. The shape of most of the houses in this place were rectangular or square. The houses had four or more compartments and some compartments were used for storage. In Mehrgarh, several burial sites were also found.
The agriculture in this region was well established by 6000- 5000 BP throughout the sub-continent. The other crops with Indian histories were mung beans, black gram etc,.
It is a Neolithic site lying on the kacchi plain of Balochistan, Pakistan.
We know that, Mehrgarh had small predominantly spherical grains that indicated the varieties adaptable to local conditions were developed. The evidence of irrigation was not found. Around 7000 BP evidence of cotton and crop was found which indicates that it was a local domesticate
