In plants water is transported by the help of a tissue called Xylem in two ways:
1. Root Pressure theory
2. Transpiration Pull theory.

Root Pressure Theory:-
In this theory, water is transported by the Pressure of root. But this theory is only applicable to plants of certain height.

Transpiration Pull Theory:-
In this theory, water is transported by transpiration force. Due to this a suction Pressure is created in the cells of leaves due to which they demand water from the neighbouring cells and ultimately from Xylem tissue.

These system works passively without any expenditure of energy..

I have not explained translocation of food since you have only asked transportation.
Hope it helps.

There are two tissues which help in the transportation of water and food in plants. i.e. Xylem helps in the transportation of water from roots to the plant body and phloem helps in the transportation of food from leaves to the plant body.
Xylem is made up of xylem parenchyma (only living part of xylem), vessels, tracheids together help in transporting sap and fibres.
Phloem is made up of fibres(only dead part of phloem), companion cells, sieve tubes and phloem parenchyma. The living cells help in transportation of food.
