Rabi and Kharif are the two main Indian cropping seasons. They extend from July to June in a single year.

Rabi season starts from July to October during the occurrence of the south west monsoon.

Rabi season occurs during the winter season from the month of October to March. Some of the crops include rice, maize and sorghum.
