Hey Mate,

INSULATORS:

=> Insulators work as protectors.

=> They may protect heat, sound and the passage of electricity.

=> Thermal insulators, sound insulators and electrical insulators are used for various reasons, from keeping houses warm to protecting electrical wires and soundproofing rooms.

=> Depending on what you plan to use an insulator for will depend on which type of insulator to use.

CONDUCTORS:

=> Cooking utensils, kettles, saucepans and boilers are usually made of aluminium or stainless steel where direct heating is involved.

=> Soldering iron rods are made of iron with the tip made of copper because copper is a much better conductor of heat than iron.

=> Heat exchangers such as those used in a laundry enable precious fuel to be saved.

Hope it Helps!

Electrical conductors are metals which allow electric current to pass through them from one side to the other when batteries connected across the conductor ends.

Examples are copper, aluminum silver ...

They are used to generate electricity in the power station, to transmit power to homes, to generate light in the filament lamps, to generate heat in heaters or irons.

Insulators are materials which do not allow electric current or charge to pass or flow from one side to the other end when batteries are connected across two ends of the materials.

Examples are plastic , cloth, elastic rubber tyres wood etc.

Insulators are used to protect people from electrical equipment to prevent heat burns or electric shocks.
