⭕ Forced Recruitment in rural areas caused widespread anger in people.During 1919 to 1920 and 1920 to 1921, crops failed in many parts of India.

⭕ There was an acute shortage of food.Also there was an influenza epidemic.✔️✔️

⭕ Hardships of the leaders did not ended after the war.So they decided to unite under one leader to find a new way of struggle.

The factors that led to rise of nationalism in India :

● Social and religious reformers like Raja Rammihan Roy, Debendranath Tagore, Keshav Chandra Sen, Swami Dayanand Sarawati,etc., had great impact on the people of India. They taught their followers to treasure the ideals of freedom and liberty.

● Imperialism of British was the main reason for rise of nationalism in India. Britishers made the geographical unity of the country successful.

● With the advent of the British, people of Indian got familiar with tye western world and its ideologies. During the nineteenth century nationalism and liberalism were prominent in the west.

● English language also played a major role in bringing Indians together. The educated Indians became politically conscious and people from different regions now had no barriers in communication.

● Development of Press and Literature is as important as English language. Introduction of Press and literary works affected the mind and thinking of people to a greater extent.
