The wastewater treatment involves the removal of physical,chemical and biological pollutants from wastewater.

This is done in several steps :

  • Passing through bar screens - To remove large objects.
  • Removal of grot and sand by allowing the wastewater to stand in a tank.
  • Sludge removal - It is done in large circular tanks. The sediment and the floating matter are removed.
  • The clarified water is subjected to aeration. Herr aerobic bacteria decompose biodegradable pollutants.
  • The clean water is either disposed off into river/sea , or disinfected with chlorine before distributing to the users.
