Blood maintain its PH by Buffers present in the human body. Blood contains large amount of carboxylic acid , a weak acid and bicarbonate, and base . Together they help to maintain the pH of blood at 7.4 . If blood levels falls below 6.8 and rises above 7.4 the person may fall ill or die.
