Answer:

They differentiate into three main tissue types: dermal, vascular, and ground tissue. Each plant organ (roots, stems, leaves) contains all three tissue types: Dermal tissue covers and protects the plant, and controls gas exchange and water absorption (in roots).

Answer: In plants, protective tissues include epidermis and cork.

Epidermis: Usually present in the outermost layer of the plant body such as leaves, flowers, stems and roots. Epidermis is one cell thick and is covered with cuticle. Cuticle is a waterproof layer of a waxy substance called cutin secreted by epidermal cells. The main function of cuticle is to protect the plant from desiccation and infection.

Cork: As root and stem grow older and increase in girth, tissues at the periphery become cork cells. They are dead and don't have intercellular spaces. The wall of cork cells are heavily thickened by deposition of suberin. Cork cells prevent desiccation, infection and mechanical injury.

Explanation:

The protective tissue is the tissue which is present in the outermost layer of the plant such as roots, stem, and leaves. Protective tissue prevents desiccation, mechanical injury, and infection in plants
