Vertical form of power sharing means the power is distributed at different levels. It consist of-
1. Central government -At the national level. Deals with India's defence, railway and related issues.Also called federal government
2.State government - At the state level. Deals with schools, disputes between states and related issues.
3. Local government- At the local level. It is called panchayat in villages and municipality in cities.
Horizontal form of power sharing means the power is distributed among different sections working at the same level.
It consist of-
1. Legislature - That makes laws.
2.Executive -That implements laws.
3. Judiciary - That deals with court related issues. It is more powerful than legislature and executive.
All these sections keep a check on each other and hence this system is called check and balance system.
