Describe the village where rip van winkle lived

Explanation:

The story  of "Rip Van Winkle" was set some years before and after the American Revolutionary War in a village found at the foot of New York's Catskill Mountains . Rip Van Winkle, a Dutch-American villager, lived there. Rip Van Winkle wanders into the mountains one autumn day with his dog called Wolf to escape the nagging of his wife.

He heard his name called out and saw a man wearing old Dutch clothing; the man  was carrying a keg up the mountain and required help. The two men and Wolf proceed to a hollow where  Rip discovered the source of thunderous noises, where a group of ornately dressed, silent, bearded men were playing nine-pins.
