The author tried to remind Todd about the loan in many ways. He went to receive him at the railway station when he returned from Bermuda. On another occasion during an evening chat he asked Todd if the dollar was in circulation in Bermuda also. The writer met his friend almost every day in the Club but Todd never mentioned about the dollar and one day went to the extent of saying that he had almost forgotten about his Bermuda trip. One day when Todd talked disapprovingly about Poland which had defaulted in its debts, the author hoped that he would remember his own debt. But was disappointed to know that it did not remind Todd of his unpaid debt.
