Laputa is a male dominated city. Wives often request to leave the island and visit the land below, however these requests are granted because the women who leave Laputa would never return. The Laputan women are highly sexed and adulterous preferring men from Balnibarbi.The Laputan husbands don't know their wives are adulterous.
