The impact was overhelming.

That so called "revolution" demonstrated that a state can be build on terror only;

That so called "revolution" demonstrated the industrial use of concentration camps for own people;

That so called "revolution" demonstrated the power of propaganda, turning the millions of own citizens into silent animals;

That so called "revolution" demonstrated the possibility of isolation own country from the rest of the world;

But all these is not the worst. The worst is the fact that so called "revolution" became an example for many others all over the world. The worst is the fact that it will take several generations to correct the people who grew up under such propaganda and now cannot tell the truth from a lie.

P.S. I explained in one of my answers why the events of October 1917 were not a revolution. That was a coup.
