. If social differences in a society overlap with each other it may lead to social division and if one social difference is given preference then people would begin to think that they belong to different community. For example, dalits in India are poor, landless and also victims of caste system.
ii. Social divisions are also the result of increased migration of people we may give example of Germany and Sweden which were once homogeneous societies, however due to increased migration of people there is a change in their social demography.
iii. Social divisions are also the result of economic factors which may divide the society between the haves and haves not, creating disparities between the rich and the poor. Such a kind of division is the result of unequal distribution of resources
