Here it is..hope this may help you:)
Explanation:
(i) Source of livelihood:
Agriculture is the main occupation. It provides employment to nearly 61% persons of total population.
It contributes 25% to national income.
(ii) Dependence on monsoon:
Agriculture in India mainly depends on monsoon. If monsoon is good, the production will be more and if monsoon is less than average then the crops fail. Sometimes floods play havoc with our crops. As irrigation facilities are quite inadequate, the agriculture depends on monsoon.
(iii) Labour intensive cultivation:Due is increase in population the pressure on land holding increased. Land holdings get fragmentated and subdivided and become uneconomical. Machinery and equipment can not be used on such farms.

Following are the three characteristics of Indian Agriculture –
Indian Agriculture is subsistent type of agriculture whose main aim is to meet the food and other requirements of its vast population. The farmers produce crops with the objective of meeting domestic needs rather than production of surplus for national and international market.
Indian agricuture puts minimum attention on fodder crops (only 4% of the cropped area) for feeding the largest number of cattle in the world. Most of the fields are mostly devoted to food crops.
Irrigation in India uses a major and minor canals from Indian rivers, ground water, well-based systems, tanks, tubewells etc for agricultural activities.
