  • it has the capacity to retain moisture for long time. when the moisture dries up, crack develop in this soil.
  • crops like cotton, linseed, mustard, groundnut, tobacco, udad can be grown in black soil
  • as it much favourable for cotton crop it is known as cotton soil.
