Answer:

\color{green}{Verbal Scale}

Verbal scale makes use of words language for representing scale related information on the map.

For example: 1 inch = 1 Kilo meter. This is an example for verbal scale.

  • \color{red}{The graphic scale }contains a linear bar which is divided into uniform grids along the length. Each grid represents same distance as represented on the scale. For making measurements, the length of an object or distance between 2 points is measured and compared against the scale. Depending on the value arrived from the bar, the actual ground distance is derived.

\color{blue}{Representative Fraction scale}

This scale is also called as ratio scale. Instead of words, it uses the numbers or values for showing the scale. As the name says, it is represented using a fraction or ratio. This is one of the most common types of map scale used in many maps.

Example: 1: 10,000 or 1/10,000

hey! here's your answer

Explanation:

Maps are a graphical representation of the world or a section of the world.  As a representation of the world, maps are compressed versions of the real world meaning that a large piece of land is recreated onto a smaller piece of paper or digital file.  The relationship between the real world size of a geographic feature and its representative feature on a map is known as scale
