Gerard lived alone in his cottage where he was packing his travel bag when an intruder comes from behind pointing a gun at him, starts asking him questions, and threatening to kill him eventually. However Gerard was sharp-minded, well-spoken, smart, persuasive, spontaneous, and a person with a cool temperament. All of these qualities along with his agility helped Gerard outwit the intruder by locking him up inside the cupboard.
