1.) Project tiger, Project Rhino and many other projects were introduced by the govt.
2.) 89 National parks, 490 widlife sanctuaries were also introduced by the govt. to protect the wildlife.
3.) Wildlife protection act was implemented by the govt. in India in 1972.

There are many wildlife protection projects have been started in India, which include -
- Elephant Project - It was started in 1992 to protect elephants’ natural habitat and their migratory corridors. Under this project, the maintenance of domesticated elephants also includes.
- Crocodile Project - It started in the 1970 decade when this species of alligators is on the verge of extinction, and the government took some timely steps.
- Tiger Project - This started in 1971 to save tigers in India. The steps were taken to protect the tiger’s natural habitat and to maintain ecological balance under this project.
- Vulture Project - There are a total of 9 subspecies of vulture in India were protected under this project which was started in 2004.
- Rhino Project - This was started under the influence of ‘Rhino vision 2020” whose strategy is to increase the number of rhinos in India to 3000. This was started to protect the one-horned rhino of India.
- Snow Leopard Project - This project was started in 2000 to aware the local people about snow leopards and to protect them.
- More projects started in order to protect wildlife such as Red Panda Project, Ganga-Dolphin Project, Kashmiri Hangool Project, etc.
