The different types of soil are Sandy soil ,Clayey soil and loamy soil.

The properties of the different types of soil are:

1)Sandy soil:

It is well aerated

Sandy soil cannot hold much water

Sandy soil is light

Sandy soil lacks humus

Sandy soil is not suitable for growing crops

Sandy soil is sticky

Sandy soil dries quickly

2)Clayey soil

Clayey soil has little air

Clayey soil has a very good capacity of holding water

Clayey soil is heavy

Clayey soil has some humus

Clayey soil is suitable for growing some crops

Clayey soil is sticky

Clayey soil take some time to dry and become hard on drying

3)Loamy soil

Loamy soil contains a equal amount of sand and clay.It contains silt and humus.Loamy soil is best for growing crops because:

1)it has the right water holding capacity due to the presence of clay.

2)It has adequate air space due to the presence of sand

3)Loamy soil contains sufficient amount of humus

4)Loamy soil can be ploughed easily
