Describe various types of solution on the basis of their concentration
Answers
Answer:
Osmotic concentrations.
The amount of dissolved solutes per unit volume of a solution is called osmotic concentration. Solutions can be of three types based on osmotic concentration.
1) Hypertonic solution, Having osmotic
concentration higher than that of another solution or cell sap in vicinity. e.g., 5% dextrose, 0.9% nacl.
2) Hypotonic solution, Having osmotic
concentration lower than that of another solution or cell sap in vicinity. e.g.,dextrose + water solution.
3) Isotonic solution, Having osmotic concentration equal to another solution or cell sap in vicinity. e.g.,Plasma-Lyte, Tyrode's Solution.
There are three types of solutions.
And they are:
- Hypertonic
- Hypotonic
- And isotonic.
Hypertonic:
Hypertonic solutions are solutions which has more solute concentration and less solvent concentration.
Hypotonic:
Hypotonic solutions are solutions with have less solute concentration and more solvent concentration.
Isotonic:
Isotonic solutions are solutions which has the same amount of solute and solvent dissolved in it. Example, Ringer solution.
