Mrs. Hall decided not to serve the stranger as the bill was also overdue and he had been behaving in a most unpleasant manner. About noon, he emerges and demands to know why his meals have not been brought to him. Mrs. Hall tells him that his bill has not been paid in five days. At what happened, Ms. Hall was extremely upset. Mrs. Hall chose not to help the man because the bill was overdue and the stranger was behaving in the most disagreeable manner. The stranger emerges at about midday, and demands why he wasn't given his food to him.
Ms. Hall claims that her bill wasn't paid and demanded her payment. She declines to accept the justification that the stranger is waiting for a remittance. She also accused him of the vicarage’s house burglary. She rejects the money which the stranger gives and says that she wants to know why he does not push through doors like normal people. The stranger then removes his head wrapping including his nose and appears without a head like a human. The stranger takes the rest of his clothing off and becomes unseen. He says he's invisible to them. The village police officer, Mr. Jaffers, came to the inn with an order to arrest a stranger. The officer said he would arrest the man, head or no head.
There was a struggle between the stranger and Mr. Jaffers, however, Mr. Jaffers gets beaten up by the stranger. Later, the Invisible Man was subdued with the help of Mr. Hall, Mr. Wadgers, and others. The stranger gave up, but it was just a trick. He knew he couldn't run as long as he was dressed. The Invisible Man took away all his clothing before anybody might doubt and the people were fighting with the invisible man. However, they were not able to match up to the invisible man.. Whoever tried to catch him was struck. Mr. Jaffers tried his best to take him, but he was forcefully hit that he fell flat on the gravel when the Invisible Man escaped.
