Describe what happens to a substance as it changes from a liquid to a gas, based on the heating curve. Include in your answer how temperature is affected during this change.

When the phase transfer occurs temperature remains constant and heat absorbed or rejected is called latent heat. Hence if a substance changes from liquid to gas then latent heat is absorbed by the substance during process.
