Urea is freely filtered 50% reabsorbed in the proximal tubule with the reabsorbtion of water urea is secreted in the thin ascending limb of henle loop so significant amount of urea reaches the distal nephron then the collecting ducts urea reabsorbed together with water from the kidney urine travels downward thin tubes called ureter to the bladder the ureters are about 8 to 10 inches long muscles in the ureters walls constantly tighten and relax to force urine downward away from the kidney
