The poet sees that in every house the children are staring at the television screens. The children were concentrating at the television and were totally immersed in it. They spent so much time watching it that they get exhausted and start feeling lazy.

according to Rohl Dahl he calls it a monster, nauseating,repulsive,foul and he tells that he saw a dozen eyeballs on the floor in a house that he visited, he says children get drunk of its ghastly junk and all they do is sit and gape at it...( so true isn't it)
