We know that hot air being lighter rises up while cold air being heavier stays down. So the land remains cold and the air temperature increases. So it sometimes leads to cyclones, if the process happens in water. The hot and cold air circulation cycles round and round leading to cyclones. Tornados are also formed by this process.
