Studying it.
Art can be beautiful, it can be confronting, it can be challenging, but the best art (in my opinion) is art that makes me think. Honestly, I'm more interested in beautiful ideas than beautiful artworks.
Studying art has given me the skills and vocabulary to think longer, harder and deeper about art. It has also broadened my tastes. I find I am now interested in art that I wouldn't have given the time of day a few years ago.
I don't mean that you need to have studied a particular artist to find their work interesting (though it often helps). Learning more about different artists, different genres of art and different mediums can open your mind about artworks and artists you haven't studied.
