It is a very rare condition. It can occur in two ways
It can occur due to androgen insensitivity due to mutation in the gene of the androgen receptor.
The vagina of such individuals ends blindly with no cervix.
Another reason is missing sex determination reason (SRY) in the Y chromosome or inactivation of the of the Y chromosome through mutation.
The individuals suffering from the condition have non functional vagina,testis and the condition is known as XY gonadal dysgenesis or also known as Swyer syndrome.
