In order to illustrate the particle of matter , Take some water in a Glass beaker. To this add one spoon Full of some salt ( Example : Sodium chloride ) and stir with a glass rod.
Observation :
we will observe that The salt will dissolve in water and there will not be any change in the level of the solution thus Formed.
It indicates that there are some vacant spaces amoung the particles of water. These are known as interparticles spaces. The particles of salt have occupied some of these.
Same observation can be made by dissolving sugar crystals in water taken in a Glass beaker.
