An object which is not moving is said to be at rest. Example is when a car is parked. An object is said to be in motion if the object is travelling a distance in a time interval with a particular speed. Example is moving bus .

objects which are stationary and do not change their positions with time are said to be rest eg our house the playground or school trees building are at rest
an object is said to be in motion when it's position change with time eg motion of air is inferred by observing the moment of leave of trees or movement of dust particles
