The nature, size and position of the image formed when an object is placed in front of a convex lens between focus and optical centre is shown in the attachment below.

The characteristics of the image formed:

(1) On the same edge as the object itself or behind the lens

(2) Image Nature – virtual and erect  (an erect picture is one that appears right upside down. If both rays overlap at a given point, an erect picture is formed. It is a picture in which, in contrast to an opposite image, the paths are the same as those in the picture)
