Xylem and phloem are plant tissues that are very necessary for a plant in its survival. Xylem and phloem are known as vascular bundles. Xylem consists of dead cells where as phloem consists of living cells. Xylem transports water from the roots to other parts of plant whereas phloem transports prepared food from leaves to other parts of plant. Cunduction in Xylem is only upwards where as conduction in phloem is both upwards and downwards.
