An interference of light:
Young’s experiment deals with the interference of light. It says that interference can be of two types:
- Constructive interference,
- Destructive interference.
To perform the experiment, the conditions necessary are that amplitudes of two interfering waves must be equal, the wave lengths must be equal, the sources must be close to each other and must be far from the screen and a few more. The constructive interference gives the resulting amplitude as an addition of two individual amplitudes. The destructive interference gives NIL amplitude.
